High pressure extends across central and western Europe, bringing plenty of dry, sunny and very warm weather. Temperatures in southern Spain & Portugal reaching 34 to 38C, but nearer 25 to 28C in northern Iberia. Scattered thunderstorms breaking out for southern France, northern Italy, also Corsica & Sardinia. A few showers for southern Italy. Hot sunshine for the Balkan countries and Greece , topping 30C inland.
Dry and sunny for most of France, highs 26 to 30C. Fresher in the Low Countries and Germany, 22 to 25C. Risk of thundery showers for the Alps. Feeling fresh for Poland and the Baltic states with a westerly breeze, 18 to 22C. Hot around the Black Sea, over 30C. Dry for much of Scandinavia, although a few showers for Finland, and patchy rain for western coasts of Norway.


Wednesday
Pressure remains high for much of continental Europe. Staying hot in western regions, and temperatures rising a few degrees for central-northern areas too. Scattered thunderstorms by afternoon in south-eastern Spain. A brisk north-easterly breeze for northern Portugal. Areas of thunderstorms for Alpine regions and southern Italy, but also plenty of sunshine across the Mediterranean. A northerly breeze for the Greek Islands.
Dry weather extends across France, the Low Countries, Germany and much of eastern Europe. Risk of a few showers for Romania and Bulgaria. A strong south-westerly breeze across Scandinavia. Persistent rain for west & north-western Norway. Warm and humid for Sweden.
