Warm southern Spain & Portugal


Friday
High pressure extends broadly across southern Europe, whilst low pressure brings wet and windy weather to the north. Warm sunshine across southern Spain and Portugal, highs 22C. Cool and cloudier for northern Spain. Fair weather across the Mediterranean, including Italy, Greece and Turkey, although a brisk northerly breeze for the Greek Islands will keep it fairly cool. Cloudy across central Europe as a weak front passes east. A little rain or drizzle spreads across Germany and the northern Alps. Becoming brighter from the west across France and the Low Countries. Blustery for Denmark, but early rain will clear. A little patchy rain spreads across Poland. Dry elsewhere in eastern Europe, although quite cloudy. Heavy rain spreads across Sweden and into Finland, and this will fall widely as snow on its northern edge, also affecting Norway, but will tend to clear away eastwards, followed by showers in the west.

Extensive dry weather continues across central and southern Europe, with a large area of high pressure in control. Strong south-westerly winds dominate northern Europe, with low pressure north of Britain and Scandinavia. Warm sunshine again in southern Spain and Portugal. Partly cloudy in northern Spain, also central-southern France and the Alps. Sunshine and pleasant temperatures for much of the Mediterranean. Highs 14 to 17C in southern Italy. Slightly cooler in Greece around 12 to 15C. Windy across Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Baltic and northern Germany. Outbreaks of rain spread west to east across Scandinavia, but it will be generally mild, highs 10C in southern Sweden. Prolonged rain, and mountain snow in western Norway. Cold in the north.
