Becoming warmer in southern Spain


Monday
A frontal system will sweep into north-western Europe, bringing rain and gale force winds to northern France and the Low Countries - mild air within this system sees temperatures reach 10 to 13C. High pressure extends across Spain and Portugal bringing a largely dry day. A few showers possible in the far north-west. A dry day for central Europe including the Alpine countries. A few showers locally around the western Mediterranean and southern Italy. Slow moving clusters of rain and snow for the southern Balkan states and Greece. High pressure across Russia maintains cold and dry westher for eastern Europe, staying widely sub-zero throughout the day. Brisk southerly winds for Poland and the Baltic. Rain and snow for southern Norway and a risk of gales. Rain moves into Denmark and Germany from the west later, and renewed snow will arrive for the western Alps into the night.


Tuesday
Chilly westerly winds extend into central Europe as fronts move eastwards. Areas of persistent rain or frequent showers. Heavy falls of snow for the west & northern Alps. Showers turning wintry for the Low Countries, northern Germany and Denmark, with hail and possible thunder. Heavy showers too for northern France. Eastern Europe stays cold, with some snow for Poland and Slovakia. Persistent snow for central Sweden. Snow showers for Norway. Windy around the Baltic. Finland should stay dry but cold.
Gusty winds for the western Mediterranean. A few showers for southern Italy and the Balkans, also western Greece , although the Greek Islands should stay dry, highs 15C. High pressure over the Atlantic influences Iberia, bringing dry weather. 15 to 18C in southern Spain and Portugal, perhaps locally warmer on eastern Costas.
