Warm or hot southern Europe
Heavy thunderstorms across eastern and southern Spain on Saturday. These storms extend into the Mediterranean and northern Italy. Central and southern Italy should be dry with sunny spells. Greece and Turkey should be dry with more sunshine here.
Some thunderstorms for the far south of France, although most central and northern parts of France will be dry. A few showers in southern Switzerland although mostly dry. The fair weather will be affecting much of Hungary and Austria too. Further sunshine in Poland and Germany, just a few showers to the north. The Low Countries should be dry with sunny spells.
Breezy but dry with some sunny spells in Denmark. Breezy too with a few showers across the Baltic States. Further showers, some heavy in Finland. Sweden should be dry and bright with sunny spells. Rain and cloud as well as strong winds affect western parts of Norway.
High pressure extends across northern Spain and France into the Low Countries bringing fair weather and warm sunshine here. A warm breeze from the interior of Spain blows toward Portugal giving temperatures nudging 30C, whilst further thunderstorms will develop again for southern Spain. Thundery showers also likely for southern France, the southern Alps and locally across the islands in the western Med.
Staying hot and dry across southeastern Europe, including southern Italy, Greece and Turkey, widely into the 30s Celsius. Areas of rain affect eastern countries, from the Baltic states to Poland and Ukraine. Germany is mainly dry, although some showers are possible in the north.
A brisk westerly breeze drives outbreaks of rain acoss Denmark and southern Sweden. Low pressure over Scandinavia brings cool and showery conditions to much of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
