Hot and sunny for many, but thunderstorms in the east


Wednesday
The Mediterranean continues to experience dry and sunny conditions through Wednesday. It will be very hot for Portugal, Spain, the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia and Italy. Very warm for the Balkans, Greece and Turkey.
A mostly dry, sunny and very hot day for France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Germany. A few showers over Alpine regions of Switzerland and Austria. Fair and warm for Poland, the Czech Republic and much of Austria. A few showers but mostly fine and dry for Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.
Warm and fair conditions extend into much of Scandinavia and northern Europe on Wednesday. A dry day for most with a few showers at times for the Baltic States as well as northern parts of Norway and Sweden.

Thursday
Periods of rain in northwest Spain and Portugal on Thursday. Most of Spain and southern Portugal should be hot and sunny. Staying fine through the central Mediterranean with lots of hot sunshine in Italy, Greece and Turkey.
A risk of some thunderstorms developing in the heat of central and western France, whilst the east should be dry. Hot in the Low Countries and Germany as well as Poland, Austria, Hungary and Switzerland will have sunshine too and it should be dry.
High pressure brings dry weather and lots of sunshine to Denmark. Sweden should be dry with plenty of sunshine. Fair in the Baltic States and Finland. A fair day in Sweden, again with lots of sunshine. Cloud and some spots of rain in Sweden.
