Heavy showers in France and Spain, fair in the east


Friday
Warm and dry across western Europe, with high pressure centred around the Low Countries. Warmest temperatures in Portugal, western parts of Spain and France, aided by local Foehn effects over the hills, and a breeze blowing from the interior of Iberia out to the coast, locally well into the 30s Celsius.
Dry and sunny across the west and central Mediterranean, including Italy. Also dry for the Alps, Germany and into southern Scandinavia. Meanwhile, a chilly northerly breeze affects the eastern part of Europe and northern Scandinavia, bringing showery conditions to Norway, the Baltic States, Poland and Romania. Some more persistent rain is likely to affect Ukraine and Belarus. Scattered thundery showers for Greece.

Saturday
Rain in Portugal, some of it heavy. There will be showers in northern Spain, but southern and eastern areas will be dry with sunny spells. Fine through Italy, plenty of sunshine here. Greece is fine too with plenty of sunshine and it stays fair in Turkey too.
Heavy and thundery showers in northern and wester France, a warm day. The Low Countries will be mostly fair with sunny spells. Showers in southern Germany but fair to the north. Some showers developing in northern Poland. Heavier showers across Hungary and Austria as well as Switzerland.
Scattered showers in Denmark with sunny spells. Fair and warm in the Baltic States as well as Finland. Sweden will be dry with sunny spells. Some showers in western Norway and these could be heavy.
