A drier and brighter day for many in central Europe on Sunday; thunderstorms and heavy rain for the western Med.


Saturday
Showery outbreaks of rain, some of them heavy, affect northern Spain and spread south through Portugal and western Spain on Saturday. Showers ease from the Balearic Islands but persist over Corsica and Sardinia. Further outbreaks of rain for western and southern Italy but some spells of sunshine developing for the north. Greece starts dry and bright but heavy rain moves into the west later. Staying dry and fine for Turkey.
A band of heavy rain sweeps into northwest France later in the day. Ahead of this, for eastern France and the Low Countries it's bright with a few isolated showers. Outbreaks of rain and snow clear to the northeast from Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic and eastern Germany leaving a dry and bright but cold afternoon here. Cloudy with some heavy rain for western Poland, mostly dry and bright to the east.
Sunny spells with isolated showers for Denmark. Isolated showers affecting western and eastern fringes of the Baltic States too. Heavy rain affects southeastern Sweden and sweeps north later into southern Finland. Ahead of this snow showers affect central Sweden and northern Finland. Mostly dry for Norway with more cloud to the east and a few wintry showers here too.

Heavy rain and snow continue to affect northern parts of Spain and Portugal. Drier to the south. Heavy thundery outbreaks of rain affect the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia and western parts of Italy too on Sunday. Drier to the east. Showers for western Greece and western fringes of Turkey but largely dry and bright here.
Showers for western parts of France but dry and bright to the east. Dry and bright too for the Low Countries, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic. Heavy rain affects Hungary, Slovakia and eastern Poland but clears to the north through the day. Dry but cloudy for western Poland.
A mostly dry and bright day for Denmark. A few light snow showers affect central parts of Norway and Sweden but it's a mostly dry and fine day here too. Outbreaks of rain affect Finland, this turns to snow further north, while eastern parts of the Baltic States also see a wet day on Sunday.
