A band of heavy rain will affect western and central parts of Europe through the weekend and there will be further snowfall for the Alps. The best of any dry and bright weather will be found in Portugal, Spain and Italy

Saturday
Staying cool for Spain and Portugal but it should be dry and bright on Saturday. Cloud should clear away from the Balearics in the morning to leave a bright afternoon while the day will start bright for Corsica and Sardinia but cloud over in the afternoon. A cool, dry and bright day for Italy with a chance of some broken cloud and scattered showers in the south. Heavy rain and possible snow showers for Greece and western Turkey.
An overcast day for much of France with scattered rain and snow showers in the south first thing before a heavier band of rain moves in from the north. A wet day for Benelux and Germany as a band of heavy rain moves slowly southeastward across western Europe while Poland starts the day cloudy but dry before snow and rain move in through the evening. Further snowfall is expected in western Austria and, later, in the Czech Republic.
A wet and windy day for Denmark as a spell of prolonged rain through the morning gives way to showers during the afternoon. Overcast with scattered snow showers for the Baltics and Finland while southern parts of Sweden and southern and western parts of Norway will see prolonged spells of rain and snow.

Sunday
Sunday continues cool but dry and bright for Portugal, Spain and the Balearics. Overcast for Corsica and Sardinia with the best chance of brightness in Corsica and a chance of showers in Sardinia. Dry for Italy with a mixture of broken cloud and good sunny spells. Dry and bright too for Greece though cloud will build from the north through the day while western parts of Turkey hold on to some heavier bursts of rain through the morning before brightening in the afternoon.
Rather cloudy across much of France with rain in the east and south. A very wet day for the Low Countries and Germany while Poland and the Czech Republic start the day dry before prolonged rain moves in through the early afternoon. Further heavy snowfall for Switzerland and Austria.
Continuing wet and windy for Denmark though there may be some good bright spells in the north by the afternoon. Prolonged falls of snow will move into the Baltics and Finland through Sunday morning while southern Sweden will also catch some rain and snow, it should staty mostly dry and bright in central regions however. There will be further snow for northern and western Norway but southeastern areas should be dry and bright.
