High pressure brings dry and settled conditions to Scandiavia


Sunday
A few showers developing on Sunday for northwestern and western parts of Spain and northern Portugal which could be thundery at times. Dry and bright elsewhere across Iberia and for the Balearic Islands. The threat of afternoon thunderstorms continues for Corsica, Sardinia, Italy and the Balkans on Sunday though there will be good spells of sunshine for many here. Dry and very warm for Greece and Turkey with a chance of thundery showers for central-southern Turkey through the afternoon.
Another dry and bright day for much of France, the Low Countries and eastern Germany. Scattered thundery showers affecting western Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Staying dry and fine in Poland with broken cloud to the southwest.
High pressure dominates over Scandinavia bringing further dry and sunny weather to Denmark, the Baltic States and southern parts of Finland, Sweden and Norway. An area of low pressure brings outbreaks of rain, some of it heavy, and a breeze to northern parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Monday
Thundery showers become more widespread over Portugal and Spain on Monday but there will still be plenty of sunshine around. Mostly dry and sunny for the Balearic Islands, Corsica and Sardinia. Afternoon thunderstorms for Italy and the Balkans while Greece and Turkey should see dry, sunny and very warm weather conditions.
A dry and mostly fair day for France, the Low Countries, Germany and Poland though isolated afternoon thunderstorms threaten for the Netherlands, Germany and southern Poland. A cloudier day for the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia with frequent thunderstorms here too.
High pressure continues to hold on over southern Scandinavia and the Baltic States bringing a dry and bright day to Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and much of Norway, Sweden and Finland too. Outbreaks of showery rain for the far north of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
