Cold air spreads across northern and eastern Europe


Sunday
Further outbreaks of rain spread from the northwest across Spain and Portugal on Sunday. Dry and bright to end the day in Portugal. Showery rain affecting the Balearic Islands too while heavier, more persistent rain moves into northern areas of Italy. Staying dry and bright for central and southern Italy. A dry and bright day too for Greece while Turkey sees a mixture of sunny spells and showers.
A cloudy day for France with some showery outbreaks of rain. These mostly over southern areas and turning very heavy and wintry to the southeast. Cloud increases for the Low Countries, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic with just isolated wintry showers here. A dry and bright day for Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.
A breezy day with sunshine and wintry showers for Denmark and the Baltic States. Windy for much of Norway, Sweden and Finland with good spells of sunshine and snow showers. These most frequent and persistent over western Norway but spreading across northern Sweden and much of Finland at times.

Monday
Heavy outbreaks of rain affecting southeastern Spain on Monday. Drier and brighter to the northwest and for Portugal. Heavy rain continues too for northern Italy and spreads into the northern Balkan states turning to snow over the Dinaric Alps. Increasing cloud over Greece with isolated showers to the west. Dry and sunny for much of Turkey.
A mostly dry and bright day for France, the Low Countries and Germany. Feeling cold with isolated showers for northern coasts. Some snow showers over Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia while it stays mostly dry but cloudy for the Czech Republic. A cloudy day for Poland too with scattered snow showers.
A dry day for Denmark with varying amounts of cloud. Snow clears east from the Baltic States to leave a bright but cold end to the day here. Continuing windy for much of Norway, Sweden and Finland with snow becoming confined to northern areas and to the western coast of Norway. Plenty of good spells of sunshine here.
