Dry and warm southern Spain

Wednesday
Further heavy rain moves in across northwest Spain and Portugal, whilst southern areas will be dry. A window of dry weather for France , although some rain and snow affects Alpine areas, into Switzerland and western Austria. Showery for western Italy, dry in the north. Showers too for the Balkan states and western Greece. Mainly dry for the Aegean Sea.
Blustery, cool and showery for central and northern Europe, with rain, snow or hail at times passing east across the Netherlands and Germany. Mixed conditions also extend across eastern Europe.
Low pressure centred over southern Scandinavia brings areas of rain and snow, with some persistent snowfalls for central-northern Sweden, plus southeastern areas of Norway. Drier toward western coasts of Norway.

Thursday
Rain affects northwestern Spain and Portugal again, and extends widely across France on southwesterly winds. South and eastern Spain plus the far south of France should escape dry. Largely dry for Italy and the Balkans as a ridge of high pressure moves through here. Rain and snow for Turkey beneath low pressure.
Northern Europe stays breezy and fairly mild, with areas of rain for northern Germany, Denmark and into Poland. Drier for central eastern Europe across the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. Areas of rain for southern Norway and Sweden, with some persistent snow for northern Sweden and Finland.
