Gales for southern Scandinavia

Tuesday
Showery rain and possible thunderstorms affect Portugal and south-western Spain, but elsewhere across Iberia it will be dry with some sunshine, highs 17C in the south. The western Mediterranean will be fine, but strong Mistral winds affect southern France. Shallow low pressure over Italy and the Adriatic brings outbreaks of rain, locally persistent. Snow over the Balkan mountains. Showery for the eastern Mediterranean, but much of Greece and the Aegean Sea will stay dry.
Dry and sunny across France and Belgium. A brisk north-westerly wind for the Netherlands and Germany - occasional showers, then rain turns persistent from the north later. Dry and bright for the Alps. Chilly across eastern Europe, with scattered snow showers. Windy with frequent rain for Denmark, southern Sweden and western Norway - snow over the mountains. Dry around the Baltic. Very cold in northern Scandinavia.

Wednesday
A bright day across Spain and Portugal, small risk of a shower in the far west. Up to 18C in the Algarve. Showery across the central & eastern Mediterranean, but much of mainland Italy and Greece should stay dry. Areas from the Balkans to the Black Sea should also see a fine day.
Dry for much of France, but staying windy in the south-east. Strong northerly winds bring wintry showers to Germany and the Netherlands. A band of more persistent rain and snow is likely to pass south across Germany in the early hours. Snow will extend into Switzerland and Austria into the daytime, most persistent in the northern Alps. Areas of frequent snow showers for eastern Europe. Gale force north-easterly winds around the Baltic. Risk of frequent snow for south-eastern Sweden. Dry but very cold elsewhere across Scandinavia.
