Hot central and southern Europe, showers and rain to the north


Saturday
Another hot and dry day is expected across much of central and southern Europe. Dry for Spain and Portugal, where temperatures may approach 40C inland in southern areas. Chance of a shower in the Pyrenees. Hot and dry across the Mediterranean, including southern Italy, the Balkan countries and Greece. A few showers for the central Alps. Hot and sunny around the Black Sea.
Hot across France, and dry for most. Risk rain grazing the Brittany coast. Toward evening or into the night, rain will spread across northern France into the Low Countries. Dry and very warm across Germany and Poland, around 25C. Bursts of rain around the Baltic Sea as low pressure drifts across northern Scandinavia. Brighter for southern Norway, although showery in the north-west.

Sunday
Fair, plenty of sunshine over Spain and Portugal today. More sunshine in the Balearics and Italy, although an odd shower in the south of Italy. Greece will be dry too with further periods of sunshine. Showers, some heavy in Turkey with a risk of thunderstorms here.
Plenty of sunshine for France too, although the chance of a shower in the east. Outbreaks of rain in the Low Countries, but heavy showers and some bright spells affeting Germany. Heavy showers merging into longer periods of rain in Poland, mostly the north and west. Hungary should be mostly dry, although heavy and thundery showers forming in Austria and Switzerland.
Low pressure will be giving rain in Denmark. Brightening up in the Baltic States with sunny spells developing here. A mix of sunshine and showers in Finland. Mostly dry in Sweden with further spells of sunshine, and staying dry and bright in Norway too.
